Immersive VR Experience: Testing the Latest Haptic Vest and Gloves (2026)

The world of virtual reality is taking a giant leap forward with the latest advancements in haptic technology. I recently had the opportunity to test out the newest haptic VR vest and gloves from bHaptics, and let me tell you, it's an experience that will leave you questioning the boundaries of reality.

At AWE 2026, bHaptics showcased an updated version of their TactGlove lineup, and the improvements are nothing short of impressive. The new DK3 gloves feature additional haptic motors at the palm, a design choice that significantly enhances the immersive experience. As I tried out the spaceship demo, I couldn't help but notice the difference in intensity between my right and left hands, with the right hand providing a more vibrant and engaging sensation.

One of the standout features of the DK3 gloves is the larger VCM motor on the wrist. This addition not only provides a more crisp and defined sensation but also adds a layer of realism to the virtual world. It's these small details that truly bring the VR experience to life.

However, with great advancements come great costs. Unfortunately, the price tag for these cutting-edge haptic accessories has increased, with the TactSuit Pro vest now retailing at $565, a $65 jump from the previous year. The TactStuit Air, a lighter alternative, has also seen a price hike, now starting at $320. While the new DK3 gloves offer improved immersion, they come at a premium price of $385.

Despite the price increase, bHaptics' gear is still available for those eager to explore the future of VR. The question remains: is the enhanced immersion worth the investment? Personally, I believe that as VR technology continues to evolve, the demand for more immersive experiences will only grow.

In my opinion, the future of VR lies in creating an all-encompassing sensory experience, and haptic technology is a crucial piece of that puzzle. While the price may be a barrier for some, the potential for truly immersive gaming and virtual experiences is an exciting prospect.

As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in VR, I can't help but wonder what other innovations are just around the corner. The journey towards a fully immersive virtual world is an exciting one, and I, for one, am eager to see where it takes us next.
